Tips to keep your business going while on vacation
Mark it down
Immediately you decide on the dates of vacation, mark them down on your calendar and notebook. This will help you get things done before your time off comes. You will plan all meetings and other necessary things to be done while you are away.
Notify your clients
It is very important your clients know you will be away. Send a note, telling them that you will be away, specify the dates. Also, give them a name of the person they can talk to in case of an emergency. You can use the social media, newsletters and for clients, you are working closely with, it will be good you send them a personal email.
Put someone in charge
Have someone to take your place when you are away. They should check your emails, and ensure that everything is in order. Notify the other employees that he or she will be in charge. Assign each of the rest duties, let them know what they are responsible for. Your clients too should have the contact of the person in charge in case of anything.
Write a To Do list
Leave behind a list of all things you want to be done. Write down all projects together with their deadlines. This keeps the rest of the team on its toes. Have a list for yourself too, so that it will be easy to catch up when you back.
Stay connected
You might have a great team, but they sometimes might need your help. Make sure you have access to your phone and internet if need be. Tell your team when you are planning to check on them so that they have all urgent things with them. Check from time to time on your network coverage. Your team might be looking for you, but cannot reach you because of poor coverage.
